Image By Alex - About Alexandra

“Each of us is a pearl, uniquely beautiful inside and out, and we yearn to experience and express that beauty in the world.”        -- Alexandra

A native from Russia fluent in three languages, Alexandra embodies a love for beauty in all its forms, and brings her unique European sense of style and élan to her work as an image consultant. Summing up her approach, Alexandra says: “It’s not what your body or face look like, but what you do to bring out your own inherent, natural beauty. It is how you express your beauty through your style.”

Alexandra works with each person to determine how to enhance their inner spirit, support their individual lifestyle, and meet their specific goals through their appearance. She takes her clients on a journey to discover their own personal style, and as a result, experience a greater sense of confidence while enjoying every single moment of it.

Alexandra has extensive knowledge of the options and uses of wardrobe, makeup and accessories to enhance an individual’s singular inner and outer beauty. She holds a Diploma as Aesthetician/Make-Up & Permanent Make-Up Artist from Burda Moden Center of Beauty, Tashkent, Russia; and a Gold Diploma in sewing from the School of Sewing Technology, Buguruslam, Russia. She is a certified Makup Artist by the Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts in Los Angeles, California. Alexandra is certified by the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI).

Prior to establishing Image by Alex, she served as an aesthetician and makeup beauty artist for professional dancers and singers at the Burda Moden Beauty Salon, and worked as an independent Mary Kay cosmetics consultant. She also worked on fashion projects for the Nicolay House of Fashion in Angren, Russia.

In the United States, she has worked as a freelance makeup artist for modeling and talent agencies, for the Phoenix Fashion Show, Label Horde Fashion Show (doing makeup for models showing designs by Kara Janx from TV Project Runway), Phoenix Bridal Show, worked as makeup artist for a movie and a commercial, and created wardrobe image designs and makeup for photo shoots for several professional photographers (David Sandoz, AZ; Christine Morden, Washington DC; Tom Preston, AZ). She contributes articles to the ABC Magazine (Art Bead Circle). She also worked as a makeup specialist for the high-end retail French cosmetics line Guerlain.

Alexandra compares her work to that of the master chef, employing the latest technology and tools available. In addition to traditional makeup, wardrobe and accessory options, her “kitchen of beauty” includes permanent makeup; computerized simulation to try on a hairstyle prior to making a decision; hair extensions; and, of course, referrals on the best places to shop to meet your specific needs and body requirements.

Alexandra says when you care enough about yourself to bring your inner and outer beauty into harmony, you not only experience and express your own light, but become a light for others.
